For our monthly weSTAMP meeting this month, we had a Tropical Party!!! Lorri purchased the tutorials from Becky Roberts for each of us to make one of these really cute purses!
Lorri's home was totally decorated with all kinds of Tropical decor. She had a grass umbrella on top of her kitchen island and grass skirts on all of the tables. We had a beautiful array of snacks which included fruits, delicious salads, key lime pie and of course Lorri made frozen Pina Coladas!

These pretty flower brooches were made at class on Saturday May 15th at my home. Everyone really enjoyed putting these pins together and they had a choice of either sewing the pieces together or hot glue.
The blue/floral brooch used an old pair of my husband's jeans and a floral patterned fabric from Hobby Lobby.
The pink hued brooch has fabric that closely matches SU Melon Mambo, which I have to say is one of my favorite colors!
All of the flowers were cut out using the Big Shot and my much LOVED SU BIGZ XL Flower Folds die which can be found in the Big Catalog item # 115970 on page 201.
This card was made by those in attendance at last Saturday's Class that is held monthly in my home. The original design can be credited to Mary Lecuyer. It was made with SU Bermuda Bay patterned paper and coordinating SU bermuda bay polka dot ribbon. The little pocket is decorated with a vintage brad and flower.
This is another color combination version of the oh so pretty stamp set "Elements of Style". I used Bordering Blue as the card base and Not Quite Navy as the background for the image and a little Bitty Button from the Summer Mini Catalog page 11 item # 118761. The ribbon is non-SU.
In an earnest attempt to post more often on my blog, today I cased a beautiful card that was featured in the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's monthly magazine "Stampin' Success". The original card is featured on page 21 and created by Diana Gibbs, a 2009 Artisan Award Winner. I thought that I would utilize some of the retiring colors on this little pretty.
Stamps: Elements of Style, Three Little Words Paper: Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, Whisper White Ink: ruby red, pretty in pink, certainly celery, old olive, basic black, so saffron, crushed curry Embellishments: ww grograin ribbon, button latte
This is just a quick card that I cased from Creations on Paper on Stampin' Up's demonstrator forum Stampin' Connection also utilizing the color challenge hosted by Barbara Welch using retiring In Colors Dusty Durango and Bermuda Bay and very vanilla.
Princess is our newest addition to our family here at the Rodenberg home! We adopted her from the Arizona Humane Society two weeks ago. She stole our hearts and reminds me of our previous beloved kitty, Boots, who sadly left us five years ago.
Princess is a Siamese mix...approximately 1-2 years old, she is very sweet, talkative, friendly and loves to be petted. We hope to have her as a pet kitty for a long time and when some of you come to visit, you will get to meet her in person.
This oh so pretty Fabric Flower Brooch Pin was specially made for a dear stamping buddy of mine, Carrie. She is so kind, sweet and generous as she shared some of her fabric finds so that I could make brooches and rag bags. I just need to take the sewing machine out of the closet to make a rag bag...LOL...
Anyway...at our next CLASS at my home on Saturday morning May 15th, we will all be making some similar fabric pins as one of the projects!!!
If you would like to join us please RSVP to me: Lindam530@cox.net
This card was especially created for my wonderful weSTAMP group using the NEW oh so pretty stamp set from the NEW Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog - page 26 Tropical Party (wood) 118515 $17.95 or (clear) 120081 $13.95. The Hibiscus flower was stamped using the rock 'n roll method with the current "In Colors" 2009-2010 which will be retiring on June 30th 2010 and the oh so pretty matching ribbons...which will also be retiring in less than 2 months!!!
You can email me @ Lindam530@cox.net if you would like to order the supplies to make this pretty summery card!
