Pines and Poinsettias

This was a make and take for our monthly downline meeting of the Dazzling Divas. This card was just about a total case of one that I found somewhere and I sadly have misplaced the name of the lovely artist, so if anyone knows her, please contact me and I will surely give her credit.

This card just exudes the warm and fuzzy feeling of the Holiday Season, of which my favorite is Christmas.
I just LOVE the real red and chocolate chip combo...it reminds me of red velvet cake :)

This little pretty is by no means simple...and I totally enjoyed using our beautiful specialty designer paper from the Holiday Mini...Holiday Berry Bouquet in all its' glory here!

This is the beginning of my making merry for the upcoming celebrations, parties, gatherings with family and friends, near and far.

Happy Stamping!

~ Linda ~

~ Christmas Lodge ~

This has to be my favorite stamp set this year and I could not wait to use it! I love the lodge image, it was inked in chocolate chip ink and watercolored with wild wasabi, the snow was highlighted with our gorgeous Dazzling Details glitter and it sparkles so very nicely!

Cherry cobbler is the base card the next layer being chocolate chip with the edges frayed a little, then a layer of stunning Holly Berry Bouquet specialty designer series paper. I cannot wait to used up this entire package as each and every print is just too beautiful and needs to be shared with my family and friends this year!

The new 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon I used is the cherry cobbler. It also comes in early espresso. The sentiment is stamped in cherry cobbler onto some crumb cake cardstock, which was also distressed around the edges.

Christmas is coming...Happy Stamping!

~ Linda ~

~ Holiday Stocking ~

Here is another project that we made in class this past Saturday. The original design was created by DeAnn Rauzi. The girls really liked this using the all NEW Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die in our Holiday Mini Catalog. Some very vanilla cardstock was cut and them embossed with the textured impressions folder...Northern Flurry...and the tip and heel and brim of the stocking were impressed with the Lattice folder, then sponged with some soft suede ink and adorned with of course, our lovely rhinestones. The ribbons used to accent the rim were some very vanilla velvet stitched ribbon, very vanilla satin ribbon, and some early espresso wide grosgrain...and...linen thread strung with a few of our cute little mini jingle bells...and...yes...they really do jingle!

Enjoy!

~ Linda ~

~ Snow Swirled ~

We made this pretty easy card in my monthly class this past Saturday. I was looking for something fun, easy and elegant and this is what transpired. The beautiful stamp set Snow Swirled Christmas tree image was inked up with white shimmer frost paint, accented with some of our beautiful rhinestones and framed with our scallped oval die and run through our snowflake embossing folder!

Hope that you like it!

Happy Stamping!

Thank you for hopping today with us, “Hopping Just for the Fun of it”. Today’s theme is Halloween / Fall Happenings, do hop thru our fun hop this Saturday featuring Fall and Halloween projects..... Plan on visiting us each month, the next hop will be the first Saturday of the month, Nov 5.. I happen to be Stop # 1 of 17 stops along the way this month.

As you can probably already surmise, this little pretty was made with SU crumb cake, early espresso, cajun craze and peach parfait.  One of my favorite all time SU stamp sets Fall Foilage was used  to stamp the leaves in the torn very vanilla image. This card was cased from a  beautiful card by Anne-Marie Bouthillette on SCS (Splitcoaststampers.com).  The ribbon is SU chocolate chip and various vintage brads were used in the making of this card creation as it was one of many (about 20 to be exact) that were shared at my monthly downline meeting of weSTAMP which is hosted by my dear, kind and wonderful upline...Lorri Heilling. Enjoy!

This little lovely was taught to my wonderful attendees at my monthly class in September. At the Henderson, NV SU Regionals I participated in a 3-D swap with my weSTAMP group and one of the ladies, Michele Acuna made these lovely roses...well, you know I just had to teach them to my dear friends (students) and each and every one of them went home with their very own Fall Foilage Gift Tag!!!

Do you like how this turned out? I may be making a Christmas version of this...What do you think?

Don’t forget we love comments if possible. To continue the hop, the next Stop # 2 is My Creative Impressions with Jeanne & Joan Norris. I am sure you will enjoy their project this month. If you should happen to get lost anywhere thru the hop. you can go to the main blog, Hopping Just for the Fun of it. Thanks for hopping with us.

Hope that you enjoyed this stop along the way on yor hop...Happy Hopping!!!

Behind the scenes, for quite some time now, many of her family, friends, downline, sidelines and whomever else was asked to have been prepraring for probably one of the most surprising parties of her life :)

Well...I volunteered to make her a Birthday Banner and I was so excited to see it come together!

This measures just about 7 feet long, so it was a bit of a challenge to photograph, therefore, I divided it into three photos.

~ Spooky Halloween Card ~

This card was made for a swap with my Dazzling Divas Downline Group. Our theme for the swap was Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and I came across this little pretty whose original creator is Heather Van Duker.
Isn't it just too cute! I really enjoyed making the little broom especially out of a toothpick, some hemp twine and holding it together with some of our beautiful SU rich razzleberry grosgrain ribbon!

Stamps: wicked cool

~ My "Girls" Birthday Cards ~

My how time passes when watching my little grandaughters, Keira and Kaely growing up into beautiful little ladies. We will be celebrating their 3rd birthday later today...I better get done here so that I can get ready!
They are such little sweethearts...they have begun taking ballet lessons and I just enjoy watching their every move and seeing them dance.

They just LOVE Minnie and Mickey Mouse, much as I remember I did when I was little...I know 'twas eons ago...does anyone remember the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with Annette Funnicello? Yup, I was glued to the TV back then...some great memories and that is what I am wishing for these precious little ones.

This particular card was cased from a swap that I received at Convention from Michelle Suit. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I would re-create one each for Keira and Kaely.

Stamps: teeny tiny wishes
Ink: basic black
Paper: basic black, pixie pink (retired), whisper white
Access: popsicle sticks, pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon, basic jewels rhinestones, crystal effects
Tools: 2 1/2" punch, 1 1/2" circle punch, scallop punch

Happy Stamping!

~ Linda ~

~ Best Friends Forever ~

The beautiful stamp set that was used to create this card was received at Convention. I just LOVE it!!!
I know, I know what you are probably thinking...and I will admit...I am addicted to pink :) LOL
Well, you might be pleased to know that I will be working on two projects this week and I am going to make a real effort to not include pink. I am going to have to hide all of my pink paper, for a little while anyway.

Stamps: Best Friends Forever
Ink: crumb cake, pretty in pink
Paper: pretty in pink, crumb cake, very vanilla
Access: linen thread very vanilla seam binding ribbon, rhinestone brads
Tools: top note die, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, NEW Bigz L Peek a Boo Frames

Enjoy!

~ Henderson Nevada Regional Swap ~

This little pretty is a card that I brought to the Henderson, NV Stampin Up Regional which took place on August 26th and 27th. Although I did not escape much of the heat, as here in Phoenix is just as "warm" as the temps in NV.

We had a wonderful time there, my weSTAMP buddies and some lovely Dazzling Diva friends. Regionals are so much more intimate that the sometimes overwhelming Convention. And I got to meet Shelli in person for the first time :) Of course, I shared with her how much being a SU demonstrator has added some "sparkle" to my life!

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Paper: whisper white, pear pizazz, poppy parade, blushing bride dsp & cs
Misc: jewels basic rhinestone
Tools: scallop border punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, large scallop punch, 2" circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, bir punch (leaf), boho blossoms punch

~ Halloween Treat! ~

When our New Stampin Up Holiday Mini came out and made its' initial appearance at Convention in July this year, my heart skipped a little beat when I saw these little Cellophane Bag treat holders! It is so much easier not to have to prowl around the web looking here, there and who knows where else to find little bags like these, when now all I have to do is order them myself!!!

Hope that you like this little project :) The reason why I chose Halloween is because I dare not bring M & M's into the house, one reason being that they would melt and probably not in the bag but in my mouth where they do not belong...LOL!

Stamps: Wicked Cool
Ink: rich razzleberry, basic black
Paper: basic black pumpkin pie
Misc: 1 3/8" circle punch, scallop punch

Enjoy!

~ My Dazzling Divas Swap ~

This is my swap card for this month's Dazzling Divas demonstrator group. We were asked to create a Fancy Folds type card. I had been wanting to make one of these, a double sided step version for sometime now.

I did a little research before I colored in Miss Birdie here. Vermillions are almost always red, therefore I thought that rose red would work. She also has some crumb cake on her wings and a little pearl accent for her cute little eye!

Stamps: young vermillion, kindness matters
Ink: chocolate chip, soft suede, crumb cake
Paper: marina mist, rose red, watercolor paper, very vanilla, crumb cake
Access: crumb cake ribbon, pearls, antique brads, linen thread
Tools: scallop die, 2 1/2" punch, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, word window punch, modern label punch, dimensionals

Enjoy!

~ SU Convention Projects ~

This was a very special "Surprise" birthday gift given to me by my dear friend Barbara Welch. It is a bit of a long story, but the shortened version is that I did not sign up originally for this class. I had intended to have a leisurely evening of a luxurious bubble bath back at our hotel room.  Little did I know that she and our other roomate Pam, had other plans...LOL...after she finally got me into the class, I sat down and she asked me if I was having fun and of course I said...yes...then she quietly said "Happy Birthday!".  Well, I was a little shocked and surprised...that is the kind of person she is...full of delightful surprises...we had so much fun this year!!!

This is one of the beautiful Make n Takes that everyone got to make at Convention this year! I love all of the variety in each and every item...gives me lots of inspiration on making pretty banners for all kinds of events and perhaps some gifts too!

Yet another beauty that Stampin' Up! pulled together for us to make! They are a truly Amazing company...full of creativity...I am hardly ever at a loss for ideas...I LOVE the flower atop the box and the beautiful fabric too!  This will hold some of my little pretties...wont' you come and see for yourself?

Give me a call or email me on how YOU can be part of this AMAZING Company! This year's festivities were the BEST! And, can you believe they said that next year's will be even better?  I can hardly wait :)

Happy Stamping to Everyone!!!

While I was out shopping this week, I found the perfect bed for my little stampin buddy Princess. I love shabby chic and thought that she might perhaps enjoy it! Well, as you can see, she does! She is such a sweet girl. I adopted her from the Arizona Humane Society last March 2010 and she has been such a little treasure in our household which consists of my dh, me our Irish Wolfhound, Sean and Silky Terrier (terror), Bebe.

So today is spa day for the pets...Sean's beds are being laundered, Princess is enjoying the spotlight here and Bebe is going to get the royal treatment which consists of a bath, brushing and new ribbon for her little pony tail!

There you have it! What are you doing today...besides stamping...of course!!!

~ Pretty Food ~

Just a tad off the subject of paper crafting...I also like to cook...although not as much as my True Love...tee hee!

These are little appetizers that I made for my dh and I on Monday night...they paired well with a nice Pinot Noir that we opened!

~ Beyone the Garden DSP ~

Another cased creation using SU Beyond the Garden designer series paper...this pack has so many beautiful, bright and cheery colors in it and the best thing about using one of our paper packs is that it makes it even easier to color coordinate elements on a card!

Another one of my favorites lately is the gorgeous SU Bigz L Fun Flowers die. It was originally in the Occasions Mini catalog but is still available to order. Drop me an email to place an order if you would like one of your very own!

Enjoy!

Hi Stamping Friends!

This is a cute card that I cased from somewhere out there in blogland.  It was very quick and easy to make too using our Breast Cancer Awareness stamp set: Strength and Hope. I used Iridescent Ice on the butterfly...it looks so pretty in person!

Enjoy!

~ Happy Father's Day ~

A few months back, I learned how to brayer at my monthly demonstrator weSTAMP meeting. I just LOVE how this technique looks with a beautiful, striking black inked stamp. This particular stamp set, Nature Silhouettes, from the main SU IBC, has been on my wish list now for quite some time. I was very curious as to how it would look if I used a brayered background in old olive and tempting turquoise.

Hmm...what do you think? I put some little black marker streaks in the background for birds...I did not want to fuss too much with a masculine card kwim?

Well...have to get working on my weSTAMP swaps that are due next Monday evening when we have our meeting...stamp, stamp, stamp! Maybe that should be a song! Ha!

Happy Stamping!

~ Happy I do Day! ~

Later this evening, Ken and I have been invited to attend the wedding of some of our dear friends whose daughter is getting married.  We have gotten to know this lovely family via our wine tasting adventures. Their beautiful daughter dances for Ballet Arizona, which Ken and I attend frequently.

These are the colors of her wedding theme and I easily matched them with our beautiful Stampin Up cherry cobbler, very vanilla and basic black cardstock. The cc background was embossed using the SU texture plate. The cake layers using the textured impressions elegant lines embossing folder, the boho blossoms punch for the flowers and our exquisite rhinestones. The Happy I do Day sentiment is from the Word Play stamp set which is on sale now...I just received mine yesterday via the UPS man aka Mr. Brown.

Hope that you like it!

~ Strength & Hope ~

This card was made especially for a very dear friend of mine whom has been recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We have become very close as a result of our mutual enjoyment of stamping, papercrafting and love of anything shabby.

It was a total case from Debra Currier. I so liked the softness of the colors and the elements that were utilized to pull this little pretty together. For the base, I used a retired SU cs that I really miss...mellow moss.

Recipe:

Stamps: Strength & Hope
Ink: so saffron, regal rose, rose red
Paper: mellow moss (retired), so saffron, confetti white
Embellishments: vv taffeta ribbon, pearls, antique brad, little leaves sizzlet
Tools: designer label punch, boho blossoms punch, 1 3/8" circle punch,
vintage wallpaper embossing folder, 3" circle die

~ Faux Mother of Pearl Pretties ~

At my class this month, I taught my attendees how to do the Faux Mother Of Pearl Technique. It's not new, but it is beautiful every time!!

How is it done?
For this card, I die cut the flower layers in Whisper White card stock using the Fun Flowers Die.

Faux Mother Of Pearl Technique:

1.Wad up a piece of plastic wrap (the kind that you seal food up with) and dip it into Frost White Shimmer Paint. You don't need much at all, two drops are enough.

2.Pounce a thin layer of Shimmer Paint over your card stock (can be Whisper White or Glossy White). Be sure to leave some white space. Allow to dry.

3.Sponge or brayer your chosen color of Classic Ink over the top. The area with the Shimmer Paint will resist the ink.

4.Once covered with desired depth of color, take a paper towel and buff off surface to reveal the beauty of your Mother Of Pearl (Shimmer Paint).

Very easy and produces great results!

Hope that you like these! Leave me a comment to let me know what you think!

Happy Stamping!
